What App Combines Workouts and Diet? One Scoreboard for Both
Workout in one app, diet in another, water in a spreadsheet: progress gets scattered. An app that combines workouts and diet puts both on the same scoreboard — and that's what IronSystem does: a logged session and, on the Monthly plan, Diet of the day (with water) feed the same XP, rank, and attributes.
A logging and template tool. Not a substitute for a registered dietitian, certified personal trainer, or doctor. If you are pregnant, have an eating disorder, illness, or are in rehab, seek appropriate care.
Why splitting workouts and diet gets in the way
When training lives in one app and nutrition in another, you lose the day view. You trained well, but don't know what you ate that day. You nailed a meal, but forget whether you logged the session. By Friday you're left with tabs, screenshots, and meal photos in your camera roll.
Splitting also fragments feedback. One app shows weights and PRs. Another shows calories. Neither says, in one place: today I logged training and diet. Without that single scoreboard, consistency becomes a feeling — and feelings vanish by day three.
What an app needs to combine
To work as a gym-and-diet app, the minimum is:
- Log the workout (sets, reps, weight) and keep your plan.
- Log the day's diet (meals, macros, water) without becoming a spreadsheet.
- A shared scoreboard — XP, rank, attributes — fed by what you actually logged.
- Clarity on what's free versus what's on the Monthly plan.
IronSystem is built that way: training and diet in one system, with progression from logging. It isn't nutrition therapy or a prescription. It's a log plus a scoreboard.
Workouts, diet, and water on the same scoreboard
For training, you use Register workout: log the session, save it, and it becomes XP. Total XP never resets; it moves your rank and the STR / VIT / END / AGI / REC attributes, along with your streak. Details in how to log a workout session and how the app turns training into a game.
On the Monthly plan, the diet scoreboard is Diet of the day: a daily XP total from what you log that day (meals + water). Water with a daily goal is free; on Monthly it goes into Diet of the day. There is no per-meal XP. The day's total can be negative — the scoreboard reflects the log, not a bar that only goes up. Meal-log walkthrough: how to log your diet without a spreadsheet.
Body composition (bioimpedance) also belongs in the same progress picture; an exam can set a rank floor. The point is the same: workouts, diet, water, and exams in one system — not three apps that don't talk.
What's free and what's Monthly
| What you want | Access |
|---|---|
| Log workouts and sessions | Free |
| XP, ranks, attributes, and streak from what you log | Free |
| Water (daily goal) | Free |
| Log meals / Diet of the day | Monthly plan |
| Generate a workout or diet template, Read meal from a photo | Monthly plan |
The free plan gives you workouts, a water goal, XP (from training), ranks, and body composition. Monthly adds meals and diet: generate workout and diet templates, log meals, Diet of the day, and Read meal. On Monthly, Read meal reads the photo of your meal and suggests foods. No accuracy promise.

Can I log a meal just by taking a photo?
On the Monthly plan, Read meal reads the photo of your meal and suggests foods. No accuracy promise.
Do I need to pay to see workouts and diet together?
Workouts, a water goal, XP, and ranks (from training) are free. Logging meals and Diet of the day are part of the Monthly plan.
